About the Artist

Jane Nobes Brennan takes the inspiration for her art work from her  natural surroundings. Her landscapes, seascapes, still life and flower paintings are colorful contemplative works that focus on the undulating forms of leaves, petals, shells, land and water. She captures their textures, shapes, and colors through the manipulation of the paint with her brushwork. Her compositions are balanced and sometimes abstract in their viewpoints but always interesting. She is an academically trained painter, who taught art education in both public and private instructions from K -University level for 40 years. In addition to her painting career, she volunteers in the public school system to teach a program called Art Goes to School. This program teaches children how to look at art and analyze it as well as familiarize them with some art history. Jane paints primarily in and around her two two homes in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and Sag Harbor, Long Island.
